Hoya carnosa is an Australian hoya with pastel pink, scented flowers. It is a vine that prefers a trellis or frame to climb on in order to flower prolifically. Hoyas, like orchids, prefer smaller pots than one would think in order to flourish. It is better to keep them in a smaller pot than to upsize as upsizing can cause stress and reduce the likelihood of flowering.

Hoyas are relatively easy to root in water or sphagnum moss.

Hoyas do not like too much water- they suffer from root rot quite easily and prefer to be treated more as a tropical succulent with very little water required.
